Detail from White Chapel of Senusret I

The blocks of this chapel were reused to build one of the Karnak pylons. Archeologists carefully removed the inscribed blocks from the pylons and reconstructed the original temple. The decorated blocks have some of the finest relief carvings in ancient Egypt.
