Greyhound Canada 6047 Chilliwack (MCI 102DL3)

Please don’t use my photos without permission, thanks!

Greyhound Lines of Canada MCI 102DL3 #6047 (originally a US fleet unit) at Chilliwack, BC, Canada, operating Schedule 5010 Vancouver-Calgary via Cranbrook. I rode it from Langley to West Kelowna. Driver was Doug, based in Kelowna. Full load on this schedule, at least for the segment on which I rode.

This vehicle was very comfortable, particularly the smooth ride, comfortable seats, and lack of odors, which reaffirmed my loyalty to the 102DL3. The parcel racks on this vehicle have been replaced.

Greyhound blundered when they sold two more tickets from Abbotsford than the capacity of this vehicle. Greyhound does not assign vehicle models to schedules, so they sell as many tickets as possible and then see what vehicle(s) to dispatch. If they had dispatched a different model with more capacity, the two passengers would not have been left behind; I believe such a vehicle was not available for this schedule. Such a vehicle would not be larger, it would only have higher seating density.

In the background is MCI 102DL3 #6053 on Schedule 5000 Vancouver-Calgary. That one is going on a different routing to Calgary.

This vehicle has received updated parcel racks.
