Photographing people in Iran, particularly women, is particularly difficult. We were wandering through this bazaar in Yazd when our curiosity was piqued by a tremendous hammering. This it turned out was from a pot maker who you can just see in the background. This particular alley was full of smoke from metalworkers forges but the fierce light from the noonday sun was tremendously atmospheric. This woman in her billowing Chador came sprinting through the alley as we were turning to leave.
