World Nomads Travel Insurance Review

What’s up everybody. Tony Florida here and I got a quick video walkthrough for you about World Nomads travel insurance. So stick around and you’ll see just how easy it is to get travel insurance with WorldNomads.

com Wether your trip is tomorrow or in a couple months from now, it only takes minutes to get travel insurance through World Nomads. So once you’re on the website, it’s super easy. All you have to do is type in the countries where you’re going.

I’m gonna say India and Thailand. What’s your country of residence? I live in the United States in Maryland. I’m gonna be traveling from July 1st to September 30th for three months. My age is 28. And after that simply click on “Get a Price” and in just a few moments World Nomads is going to give you quotes for their plans.

Now on the next page you’ll see two different plan options. One is the Standard Plan and one is the Explorer Plan. So there you have it. For 3 months of travel to India and Thailand for the Standard Plan it’s going to cost me $251.

24. The Explorer plan will cost me $356.40. Now what are the difference between these two plans? Overall the Explorer Plan has higher coverages for some of the categories and also has coverage for more extreme sports which we’ll get into that a little bit later.

But here’s a good breakdown of the coverages between Standard on the left and Explorer on the right. So you’ll see there’s emergency accident and sickness medical expense. There’s similar coverages between the two.

You’ll start to see differences in coverage amounts down here a little bit further between the Standard Plan on the left and the Explore Plan on the right. But what I want to point out is two distinct differences.

The first one is the collision damage waiver which is not included in theStandard Plan and is included in the Explorer Plan. So what this is basically if you have a rental car there’s going to be some coverage for you with the Explorer Plan whereas you’re not going to get that coverage in the Standard Plan.

I do want to point out that a good amount of credit cards including the Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card does have the same type of auto rental collision damage waiver included in their plan at no additional cost to you.

So keep that in mind if you do have that card or thinking about getting that card. You won’t actually need the Explorer Plan in that case because you’re already covered by your credit card as long as you make the purchase of the rental car on your credit card.

The other difference I wanted to point out was the adventure sports and activities. So the Standard Plan does have coverage for some sports and activities. Actually has a good amount of coverage. But the Explorer Plan has the coverage for the extreme sports and actually have a whole list here of covered adventure sports between the Explorer Plan and the Standard Plan and if you know like you want to do something like skydiving you want to come to this page and see if it’s covered by the plan that you’re looking at.

So skydiving looks like it’s covered in the Explorer Plan only whereas, let’s see if there’s, yes. So there’s a difference, there’s a distinction between tandem which is also only covered on the Explorer Plan.

But let’s say you want to do bungee jumping. So that is actually covered under the Standard Plan. So if you know you’re going to go bungee jumping you might not need to get the Explorer Plan. So if you have a good idea about what you’re going to be doing on your trip, definitely check this list out and if you’re not sure I guess I would recommend going with the Explorer Plan just so that you are going to be covered for those activities in case you do want to do them.

But don’t let that stop you. You can always sign up for the Standard Plan and then change your plan to the Explorer Plan while you’re on your trip. I found the World Nomads customer service to be extremely responsive and helpful with telling you what’s covered and what’s not covered in your current plan.

I was thinking about bringing my laptop on my trip to India and called them up and said, “Hey, if my laptop stolen is this going to be covered under one of your two plans?” And they told me that it would not be covered, so for that reason and a couple other reasons, I decided to leave my laptop at home just for the peace of mind.
